Specimens should be shot on a white background and clipped to ensure that the background reveals pure white. Wide angle lenses should be avoided to ensure the specimens are not distorted. Preferable angles are even with the specimen or straight down from above, though some specimens might offer interesting opportunities for differing angles. These differences should be used sparingly.
