10/26 In the Field: Foraging for Dye Mushrooms
On October 26, 2025, Ryan and Emily Bouchard of the Mushroom Hunting Foundation joined the Nature Lab for a presentation on foraging for fungi, and then led a foraging trip in the woods at Swan Point Cemetery on the East Side of Providence. Students learned about responsible practices for identifying mushrooms, and about a range of edible species and species used to produce natural dyes for textile and other applications.
