OPEN CALL: BioPossibilities Exhibition (April 2026)
The Nature Lab invites submissions for an upcoming exhibition showcasing work that engages with regenerative material research, including circular and bio-based materials.
This exhibition centers Nature Lab’s commitment to material reuse, regenerative design, biomaterials research, and experimental fabrication. We are seeking projects that actively engage with Nature Lab resources like the Biodesign Makerspace, the biomaterials library, and Loop Lab to approach conceptual and material strategy in which organic or bio-derived substances simulate, disguise, destabilize or reconfigure expectations of material authenticity, or sustainable materiality.
Submit your work for consideration by March 25.
Don't have a project yet?
It's not too late! Sign up for time at the Biodesign Makerspace or order free-of-charge materials from Loop Lab.
Submissions can be anything that utilizes bio-based materials!
- Utilize biomaterials developed or tested or explored in creative research or works
- Experiment with waste streams, circular reuse systems, or regenerative processes
- Apply sustainable fabrication methods or research methodologies
- Explore material life cycles, decomposition, transformation, or repair
Projects may be research-driven, process-based, or fully realized works. Works-in-progress and deeper material investigations are encouraged.
- Sculpture and installation
- Interdisciplinary or hybrid formats
- Two-dimensional works
- Prototypes and models
- Printed matter
- Photography and documentation-based work
- Video and time-based media
